How To Hang Your New Shower Curtain
Hanging a shower curtain can be easy, but it can also be very tedious. Here are a few tips to make hanging your next shower curtain less of a hassle and more of a joy.
Instructions
- Pull your shower curtain out of the container. If you use a knife, be careful not to cut the curtain.
- Find a room with enough room and lay the curtain out completely
flat. This allows for easier work on the shower curtain as well as
provides an opportunity to inspect it to make sure there are no defects
before you spend the time hanging it.
- Put the hooks or rings through the eyelets.
- Grab both ends of the shower curtain and bring it to the bathrom.
You might need to fold the curtain a couple ways to make it easier to
move, but keep track of the two top corners.
- Hang each corner ring up to begin with, and work your way inward. This will allow for a much easier time attaching the rest of the hooks without having the shower curtain continually falling on you.
Additional Tips
- If hanging a fabric shower curtain, consider ironing it out before you hang it. It can be tempting to let gravity remove the wrinkles from the packaging, but gravity will rarely remove all the fold wrinkles, especially the vertical ones.
- Consider running the shower curtain through the washing machine before using it. This can both help remove any smells from manufacturing, as well as help reduce fold wrinkles. Be very careful when drying a vinyl shower curtain, as it could melt if the dryer heat is too high. Consider air drying it instead.
